BECOMING A TRUSTEE

SLYC has 2 types of trustees: Board Members who are Members of the Company and Co-opted Members.

Board Members:

Board members are required to attend at least 4 Board meetings per year. They also must attend the AGM and submit their nomination forms for re-election each year. As the challenges ahead become more complex, albeit rewarding, we are looking for local people to join SLYC’s Board of Trustees, particularly local parents or professional people, who can bring with them their life long skills, enthusiasm, ability, and professional experience to our organisation.

Co-opted Members:

Co-opted members are normally professional people who can help SLYC with specific matters, such as employment law, finances, management and legal issues. Unlike Board Members, Trustees are not members of the Company and are not required to attend Board Meetings. However, they are expected to attend the AGM in order to be elected as a Co-opted member on a yearly basis.
